Comments: written his grandson, jesse. He went on to become an educator a dad, granddad, and a great granddad, he is and always will be a strong foundation of his community and his family. His family stretches up and down the east coast . he has become a proven educator both in and out of classroom settings. Anyone who ever meets him learns to love honor and respect him. He once again resides in beckley. God willing will continue to.

Comments: We lost a very special person Friday. Robert Wood was my great uncle. He was a type of person
who loved to joke around with the kids in the family. We would have get togethers at his sister-in-laws house and
Uncle Bob and our other uncles would laugh so much. They acted like they have known each other all their life, but
they were only brothers-in-law by marriage.
Uncle Bob was on the state basketball championship team. Which I never knew. Uncle Bob you will be greatly missed
by all. Family reunions will never be the same.

Comments: Husband Ted and I have lived in Port St. Lucie, Florida for eight years. We lived in Fairmont, WV 38 years. We've
been married 56 years. We have five sons, four of whom live in Florida, and one in Kentucky. I didn't get to
attend the class of 1946's class reunion in '96 and have not had news of any since then. I'd enjoy hearing from any of you.

Comments: Attention Class of 1946: I have a class ring from WWHS class of 46. It is a girls ring and the initials
inside are B.R.E. It was found many years ago in a drawer from a piece of furniture that was bought second hand by
my parents. They put it up and forgot about it and we just recently rediscovered it. My mother is not sure, but she
thinks the people she bought it from may have been named Ewing. If anyone can claim it, contact me at gallardfan@cs.com.

After high school and a 4yr tour in air force found myself in lakeland Fl.
1954 worked in aviation and wound up at Cape Canaveral, retired 1990 still keep my home in Leesburg Fl,
spend my summers here in Grassy Meadows on 10 acres with no close neighbors.
Have no family except my wife of 55 yrs.

Comments: Greatly pleased to find the website. I am now a double retiree and
full time golfer after 30 years as Foreign Service Officer and 10 years law practice.
Would love to hear from old classmates.
FYI, one of the 1971 inductees of Sports Hall of Fame is listed as Nick Bakali. Nick,
now deceased, was my best friend and next door neighbor while at WWHS. The correct
spelling of his name is Bakalis, a small but significant error. Please correct. Also, I
would echo and support the query of Lawrence Hunt on why he was never inducted in the
Hall. I can attest to his listed accomplishments and note that those of a few of the
other inductees from that time frame pale in comparison. I strongly recommend the correction of this oversight.
