Comments: I attended 9th, 10th, 11th, and part of 12th grade with the class of '61. I moved out of state during the 12th grade and graduated from Bladensburg High School, in Maryland. I went on to college and have managed the design and construction of space flight systems for Fairchild, General Electric, Lockheed, and the past 26 years, for NASA.
I still have family and friends around Beckley and try to visit there 4 or 5 times a year, especially Bridge Day. I enjoy this website very much. It is great to read about the many success and about the bits of personal information of my WWHS classmates. Your website brings back many warm memories of one of the most beautiful places on earth, and of a time in all our lives that was truly unique.

IBM in 2000, but I love my library job and am still working part time. We now have 4 grandchildren - 8 &

I've been married to the former Jeannie Canterbury, class of 1964 Shady Spring High School for 42 years. We have two
daughters (Michele in Charlotte, N.C. and Shannon in Shady Spring, WV.)
Two grandsons Gunner and Luke. I retired from the Beckley Fire Department after 31 years of service in 2000,
serving as Captain over the Training Division.
I teach a few days a month for Regional Education Service Agency as a Emergency Medical Technician Instructor.
My exit out of the house a few days makes for a happy wife.
Since retirement I play a lot of golf, tennis and basketball. My wife and I have a Honda Goldwing motorcycle
that we get great pleasure in riding. This past summer we rode the entire Blue Ridge Parkway, what a beautiful
ride. We plan to travel to the New England states this coming summer. Attended 40th class reunion and had a great time.

participate! I just retired last week after 19 years with a local property management company, and am looking

celebrated our 38th anniversary. We have lived in the DC suburbs for about 28 years where he still works for the
Dept. of the Interior. By this time next year, we hope to have relocated to the Shenandoah Mountains of Virginia. We

do miss the mountains!! I don't think anyone can ever get W.VA out of their heart. I know I can't. I had
such good friends in high school. The clothes, cars, music...everything was so good. Wish I could go back in

I have two wonderful sons with great wives. My oldest, Rob, lives in Richmond, VA and has given me
two beautiful grandchildren. My youngest, Ben, lives in Chapel Hill, NC with his "great" dog. Both of
my sons graduated from Virginia Tech and are currently in business for themselves.
I teach seventh grade in Staunton, VA and have a part-time job with the Court Service Unit

Comments: I am approaching my 60th birthday and am working hard at not aging. I hope to
live to be a 100, just to see what is going to happen. Jimmie Pennington, (member of the class) and I
were married in 1964 and will have our 40th anniversary next year. We have three wonderful daughters and four

I have not been to any of the re-unions. although we intended to be there, it seems we are out of town when the
time rolls around. Since I didn't get to be prom or homecoming queen or an attendant when we were in

I'm now living in Ashland, Kentucky. I "retired" and moved here from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
My retirement didn't last long, however, and since May 7 of this year, I am Secretary-Bookkeeper
for Laborers' Local Union 1445. Have one daughter, Elizabeth, who lives in Northern Virginia.
She's an attorney who chooses to remain single (at least for now), so I'm grandmom to grandkitties,
Jessica and Dusty. If you remember me, I would love to hear from you. Does anyone know the

Woodrow Wilson High School. This is wonderful! After working as Public Health Nutritionist
for the District of Columbia Office on Aging from 1998-2000, I am now in the process of
developing my own Nutrition Counseling Practice. I still love to dance, walk and cook,
along with playing bridge. Carl and I will be celebrating our 35th Wedding Anniversary
October 1 of this year. He dances, walks and plays bridge with me and golfs/fishes with

some of mine. I have been married to Mike Holliday (class of '60)
for 36 years and we have two sons (one is still at home and one
leaves in New Smyrna Beach, FL). We have one grandson, Stephen (12
years of age) who lives in Sterling, VA. After graduation I moved to
Washington, DC and lived in that area for 30 years. We then moved
back to Charleston, WV where we lived for 5 years until I had an
opportunity to transfer to Florida with Huntington Banks. I have
been working for HNB for 7 years (4 years in WVA and 3 in Florida).
Probably will not make it to the reunion as I need to stay close to
my 86 year old mother. Love living in Florida and would never

good friends. In the summer we go to the beautiful mountains of NC
and there enjoy such natural beauty. I know it sounds booring but we
play tennis and golf there too and are with our friends having
dinner, hiking and picnicing, going to plays and searching out
pottery finds. I love to needlepoint, cook southern foods, work in my
flower garden and visit my children and grandchildren in Atlanta. I
taught third grade for about eight years after graduating from WVU.

Comments: Since leaving high school and graduating from WVU and Michigan State
I have relocated a number (7) of times and now live outside of Philadelphia with my
16yr old son. I, also, have two daughters; one in Boston (25) and one in Philadelphia (22).
I have been fortunate in my career advancing to Chairman,
President, & CEO of a Fortune 500 Chemical Company.
I retired from this company in 1998 but "flunked" retirement. I have now gone back to
work for another large company where I am President, CEO.
I plan to attempt retirement again in a year or two.

Comments: Forty years go by in a flash! For nearly 36 of those I've been married
to Mike Brown, sportswriter turned insurance executive. We have 2 daughters who have
delivered us 5 grandchildren who challenge our stamina as we approach the 6th decade
of life. Before moving to Savannah in 1991, I taught nearly 25 years in WV schools,
('64-'65 at WWHS). In '92, I changed careers, enrolled in the BS in Nursing program at a local
college & graduated in '94. I work on an inpatient rehab unit at a hospital 15 minutes
from my house. The 12-hour shifts can be tough, but I like the flexibility of working 3
days a week. I hope to see many of you in July!

high school that long was ancient. I'm not so sure of that any more,

decided that I needed a more captive customer, so I went into
