Atlanta tower for 30 years (Sr. Coordinator, Delta Air Lines). Can you say

Comments: Hello everyone! When I look at Cindy's pictures, I'm really sorry that I didn't attend the 30th reunion...I see folks I haven't seen in 30 years! I was at the 25th, but was in the process of moving from Beckley at the time of the 30th... Wow...It's hard to believe that it's been 30 years since we roamed the halls at Woodrow...and that we've lost so many classmates.
I'm now living in Ceredo, WV (a suburb of Huntington). I'm currently a Graduate Assistant in the Music Department (University Bands) at Marshall University, where I'm FINALLY getting that Master's Degree in Music Education! I am currently on a leave-of absence from Raleigh County Schools (after 26 years of teaching), and teaching Choir/Music at Ceredo-Kenova Middle School in Wayne County. I sing with "River Magic," a Sweet Adelines chorus based in Huntington, and have been playing oboe in area churches as well as University ensembles.
I'm separated and soon to be divorced from my husband of 22 years, and have 3 grown children: Amanda Lykens McPherson(26 and WWHS Class of 2000), an Army veteran and wife of an Army Airborne Sergeant (David McPherson) just home from Iraq--now living in Anchorage, AK; James Lykens (21 and Liberty High Class of 2004), a Jazz Studies major at Marshall University and professional bass player with "Bud Carroll and the Southern Souls;" and Jason Lykens (20 and LHS Class of 2006), a Culinary student at Marshall University and current employee at Southern Communications. I am also the GRANDMA (yep, indeedy!!!)of beautiful Kamryn Jeanette McPherson, born in June 2006.

Comments: Just to let the class of 1977 know, Susan passed away 9/9/07. Many of you may remember that Susan had Hodgkins Disease (cancer) when she was 15 and again at 18. Although she went on to do fairly well medically and have two beautiful children (Hunter/15, Rhegan/12) she did have side-effects from all the treatment she received at that time. Susan developed breast cancer as a result of the extensive radiation she had had and this time fighting cancer was too much. Her body had taken all the chemicals one body can take.
Her children remain in Bristol TN where she and her husband had lived for 20 years.

Tis wonderful to see the postings and all the familiar names. I am looking forward to seeing all my classmates and catching up on three decades (where did the time go?) of life and living! I am entering my 15th year teaching at the Virginia Military Institute [Colonel,Full Professor, and Professional Mining and Geological Engineer (BS Mining Engineering - WV Tech: Master of Engineering, Geotechnical and Geological Engineering - University of CA,Berkeley: PhD Mining Engineering - Virginia Tech)]. Research, government consulting/travel, restoring a nearly 100 year old house, and a 7 year old chocolate lab (Theo) take up most of my time. Toss in carving abstract sculptures, restoring old jeeps and land rovers, competitive shooting, and banjo lessons, and there is barely enough time to enjoy a cup of tea on the porch swing ... life is good and wonderfully full! My family is still in Beckley and I return as often as possible.

I'm married to the love of my life, Billy Walker, my Beckley Junior High boyfriend - if any of you remember back that far! We've been married almost 14 years, 2nd time around for both of us. We have two beautiful English Springer Spaniels, Katie and Maggie and we recently built a house in Pocahontas County where we spend most weekends. It's hard to believe 30 years has come and gone. I am still in Beckley "By God", West Virginia. Reunion news is GREAT !! I celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary April 10th. My daughters, Keri and Amber, are both in their own homes now and I have great news, Keri has given Mary and I our first grandson, Brayden, he is now 17 months old !!
I am retired from the Beckley Police Department and am currently finishing my third and final term (12 years) with Beckley City Council. I have been the Head Softball and Volleyball Coach at Mountain State University for 10 years. You should check out the "DUST BOWL" across from Park Junior High. We renovated it and made it presentable again. We use it 10 months out of the year.
I look forward to seeing all of you in August !! I will be the big guy with salt and pepper hair. haha

I graduated in '05 with a bachelor's degree in ultrasound but haven't yet pursued a career in that field. I am currently working towards a master's degree and hope to finish up next year.
I am currently in a relationship with a wonderful man named Rob that owns a fishing charter business in Florida. I will be moving there in July to spend what is hopefully the rest of my life!!! One of my life's dreams was to someday live on or close to the shore and it is finally coming true. From our back deck we walk directly onto the sand. It is truly a dream come true for me.
I can't believe we're getting ready for our 30th reunion. There are so many classmates that haven't yet signed in to this site. How ever will we reach them all?

page for alumni postings. how great to see so many familiar names! i'm still in nashville. after a varied career
working on remixes of tracks for artists from tim mcgraw and tracy byrd to wynnona and neil diamond, i moved into
commercial music, writing and producing for a client list that includes coke, ford, mattel, jeep and more. two years
ago, i started my own brand management company, "transparent creative management." in addition to developing brand

Comments: Well, HELLO to the class of 1977! My sister talked me into logging on to this website...Unlike most of you, I took
a different life path. I am a Config/Proj Mgr (with a background in large mainframes) for the Dept of Defense (Army) at the
Pentagon. I've been there for many years...and was there when the plane slammed into the building. I helped to picked
the pieces up in my agency/division...returning to work the very next day! It was our goal to make sure that the computer
system was not disrupted, in spite of the fact that our world was coming down around us!
Presently, I am in graduate school...working to complete a Masters in Health Information (Medical Informatics). Something
I want to do before I turn the BIG 50!
I've never married nor had any children....But I do have five cats....with a few of them being about 17 years of age....
In closing, I wish to add that this "mode of communication" is wonderful! Since I have already missed WWHS reunion
(not knowing about it!), I hope, that by having this email address, someone will contact me for the next one...

Comments: Hello all! I just wanted to say "hi!" and give you an update: I'm teaching at Woodrow now! Isn't that wild?
I just finished my first year yesterday, June 9, 2004, and can finally relax after a busy, excruciating, exciting year. I had
been teaching English 12 and written and oral communication in Fayette County at Midland Trail High School for the past 14 years
and just got tired of the 60- mile drive. The 5-minute drive now is just heaven, not to mention the warm reception, friendly staff,
and familiar halls that I loved so much. Of course many things have changed over the years, but we all have to get used to
that! I'd love to hear from any of my old buddies that did or didn't make it to the 25-year reunion. The 30-year will be here
before you know it!

Comments: July 6th and 7th at 4H camp near Little Beaver State Park. We believe this facility will take care of our families and give us a great building for our big party. We're keeping costs down and staying as informal as possible. We are NOT having a dinner party on SAT night, we will have some finger foods.
As of now the agenda looks to be: Friday night adults may meet at Foster's Bar and Restaurant........Others may want to meet at the 4H camp for a more rustic gathering. Some people are even talking about pitching a tent for the family.
SAT will consist of a family picnic ( bring your own food and family ) there will be games and other fun. Bring your basketball, volleyball and extra clothes( you may get wet)
A golf outing will be organized for Friday and Sat
Sat night will be the large meeting at the 4H camp building. Finger foods and soda pop will be provided BUT no alcoholic beverages. You MUST bring your own if you choose to drink. We're trying to get baby sitting services for our children.
The cost of this reunion hasn't been established yet however we don't anticipate the cost to be more than $10.00 a person.

Comments: Hey y'all! "77" still rules!!! Attended WV Tech for 2 years, then graduated
from Marshall in '81. I've been teaching here in wonderful Raleigh County for 21 years. Spent 3
years at Beckley Jr. High, 4 1/2 years at Clear Fork High, and I'm currently band/choir/music theatre
teacher at Liberty High School in Glen Daniel (yeah, I'm still into the "band thing"--lol). I'm
married to Pat Lykens ('75 Marsh Fork and '79 Concord grad). Pat is the Youth and Education
Coordinator at Beckley Presbyterian Church. We have 3 beautiful children--Amanda (20--a 2000 WWHS
grad), Jimmy (15) (Liberty High School), and Jason (14) (Independence Jr. High). We lived in
Whitesville for a while, but have been back home on Dry Hill since 1995. I am active with the
church, the Raleigh County Music Educators, an active school wrestling team mother (Go Liberty High
and Independence Jr. High!), an assistant scoutmaster of our local Boy Scout troop, and an Ordeal
member of the Order of the Arrow. I am also the proud mama of an Eagle Scout (Jimmy)! In my spare
time (hahaha), I'm still enjoying reading and needlework. This website is wonderful! I've seen
names of people I haven't thought about in 20 years! I hope plans for our 25th reunion are WELL
under way--never been to any of the reunions, but definitely planning to be at THIS one! Anxious

Comments: I'm 41yrs young, brown hair and blue eyes. I'm
5'11'' and weigh about 180 lbs with an athletic build. I'm a
homeowner who is finanically secure and emotionally stable. I enjoy
working out and staying fit. I like to shoot pool, bowl, swim, ski,
jog, karate, lift weights, roller blade, and bike. I love the
outdoors and just about anything outside as long as the weather
permits. I love a good movie and relaxing on the couch with
someonespecial. I have 1yr of college with civil engineering
emphsis. I also had 1yr electronics and 2yrs Drafting and Surveying
in the vo- tech. I served in the Navy for 4yrs from 1977-81. I work
as a electrician's helper for 3 1/2 yrs and i ran a transit on a
survey crew for 3yrs. I currently work for Ford Motor Co. as a spray
painter on the assembly line. I have been their 12 yrs. I live in
Sheffield, which is 25 miles west of Cleveland. I have been divorced
since 91 and have 2 boys 11 and 14. I love pets and have a doberman,
Tucker.

for my junior and senior years, I have great memories. This site has

Comments: Greetings, I hope all my former classmates and
frends are doing well. After graduating from WWHS, I attended
Glenville State College. Upon graduating, I moved to Welch and have
been here ever since. I have a been a science teacher at Mount View
High School for many years now. I was recently named the 2000
McDowell County Teacher of the Year. I am also the Athletic trainer
for the football team and coach softball. I am married and have a
daughter age 6 and a new child on the way. I am still very active in
the Boy Scouts of America and hold a seat on the Executive Board, of
the Buckskin Council. Hope to hear from frends and former classmates.
