The 2,171 square foot building across the highway from the present post office location is scheduled for occupancy Aug. 1 according to an announcement by Congressman John M. Slack. A contract has been awarded Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Phillips of Greensboro, N. C., for construction of the building to be leased to the United States Post Office Department for a 10-year period with options for renewal of the lease.
