Raleigh County West Virginia by Jim Wood has: “First Baptist Church, Sophia. - Originally called Soak Creek Baptist Church, the name was changed in 1940 to First Baptist Church. Dissembled sometime prior to 1910, it was reorganized by the Rev. J. E. Pannell of Narrows, Virginia, in 1911. A new building was erected in 1939.” A larger picture is here. |
