I graduated from WWHS in 1963. I graduated from the University of Florida in 1967 and have been teaching elementary school in Orlando since that time. I have been married to Chan Alyea since 1971. We have three children. Chip 26, graduated in May from Rollins College. Julia 20, is a sophomore and Andrew 19, is a freshman at Valencia. I am so excited about this site and hope to get in touch with some of my former classmates. I have not been to Beckley in about fifteen years. I am really enjoying the pictures of the site as well as those of the Class of '63 reunion.

1969 WWHS graduate. Graduated from Appalachian Bible College, 1972. Taught at Pensacola Christian School, Pensacola, FL - 1972-1976. Married 25 years with a 22 yr old daughter who will graduate in April from the University of West Florida (UWF) and an 18 yr old daughter who is a freshman at the University of Mobile (UM). Was in Beckley in January for a funeral. Come every July for the Hatcher-Waddell reunion at Grandview. Both parents buried in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

We lived in Lexington, Ky until ' 74 when we moved to our current home Westminster, Colorado. We have one
Daughter, Stephanie, and two grandkids, Matthew and Alison. We do visit my mom in Beckley nearly every year.
This is my second entry into the year book however I am wondering if ANYONE out there knows if the Class of ' 62 will
ever have a class reunion ?? I went to the only one I know of back in ' 72. That's been a lifetime ago ! LOVE this

This certainly is a wonderful idea, and I have enjoyed reading each entry and catching up. I presently live in Summersville, WV with my husband of 22 years, Don. We have three cats, a dog, about 20 deer that come daily to be fed, squirrels, birds, raccoons, and plenty of quiet country living. We own a campground here, and in the summer, stay quite busy.

am married to Ron Wells, a Charleston man, for 27 yrs. We have two children:

in a band. I worked in the banking industry until the kids came along and then

Yes, I did graduate college and hope to do something worthwhile when I grow up. In the meantime I'm having about as good a life as anyone could have. If you like the outdoors this area has all you could want; if you like the indoors, what diffrence does it make where you live?

I everyone....I graduated in 1969 and would love to hear from my friends.
I have a lot a catching up to do....It's been soooo long. I am married and
have 6 children whose ages range from 27-16. I have 4 grandchildren. Of my
children, 4 live in this area and one is in Florida and one is in Seattle
so I need frequent flyer miles or my own airplane!!! Some of my friends

from WWHS in 1968 I joined the Air Force and spent 20 years traveling around the
world living in such places as San Antonio, TX, Biloxi, MS, Rapid City, SD, Bangkok,

It's great to see so many of the 60's generation alive and kicking. I'm a 1964
grad, went to school at SKU (South Kanawha University aka Beckley College) and
then on to South Eastern College in Lakeland,Florida where I met my wife Carol
Ann. We have been married 29 years and have one son, Chris who graduates in
April of 2000 from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in journalism.
I work as Vice President of Professional Kennel Club, a purebred dog registry,
and serve as Editor of a dog magazine called PROHOUND. I have been away from
Beckley about
16 years but still cherish the opportunity to return as often as possible.
I've introduced several of my Michigan friends to white water rafting the West Virginia rivers and we try to do that as often

What fun! I graduated in 1965 - the largest graduating class (912 graduates.) Boomers
rule! I worked in "Honey-In-The-Rock" every summer through college and after the Air
Force. Went on to a career as a theatrical employee. I have two beautiful, talented
and smart daughters and two former wives. I keep a flyer on my wall - "SM seeks blonde
model-type SF who doesn't press charges and likes doing dishes." Actually, guys like me

Who would ever have thought, back in the dark ages at Woodrow, that we would be finding each other like this? I think Jeff Miller has done a great thing, not to mention a great job, in putting up all the Beckley and WWHS info. I first found him because he also has a great radio history site, with an emphasis on West Virginia and Beckley radio history. He even found a few pictures of my father from back in WWNR days.
Since Beckley, I been about every place on the east coast, but we've been here in the Atlanta area (Decatur to be exact) for the last 12 1/2 years, and not planning on being anywhere else until we retire. I am a computer network architect (whatever that is) for the network integration unit of a major information technology company. I have been married for over 30 years to someone from Huntington who I met when we were here the first time, both in school. We have no children, but a variable number of dogs (currently one, lately Basset Hounds).
For those who may not know, my father passed away about 20 years ago, my mother remarried and they're thoroughly retired and doing well outside of Mobile, AL. My sister has been in New Orleans for over 10 years.
It's great seeing how old friends and mates are doing - seems like a new familiar name comes up about every day. Isn't technology amazing? (Not mention putting food on the table).

back then what different meanings the words 'surfin' (what the Beach
Boys did), 'desktop' (where we did our schoolwork), 'driver' (the
person beind the wheel of the car), 'menu' (that thing they gave
you at a resturant), 'mouse' (the little furry thing running under the kitchen stove,
or was it Miss Williams?), and 'window' (what we daydreamed out of in study hall),
would have in the year 2000? And who could have imagined what living to be 50 years
old would be like? But here we are, talking to each other on the www and finding people
we had almost given up hope of ever finding again. Thanks Jeff, this is the greatest
idea for the use of the internet yet.
I wondered around a few years after school too, took some computer
training (all obsolete now) and ended up in Atwood, Illinois where I worked
for 3 years with elderly and handicapped people in nursing homes, in the
activities programs. After divorce number 1 I came home and worked at the
new Raleigh General Hosp
for a while, then back to nursing homes for 9 more years. Currently manager
of Manor House Apartments (in front of the Bowling Alley on Johnstown Road),
for the last 16 years. My place in life seems to be taking care of elderly
and handicapped people, which is who Manor House's 102 apartments are for.
No children, no husband (divorced number 2 also, number 3 passed away in
1991). Hi
